Students enrolled in the Selected Studies in Political Science (POLS 258) may work as interns for the local office of the district’s member of the U.S. House of Representatives. Several political science students also have worked locally on campaigns for local, state and national candidates.

Faculty serve as advisers for social science-related clubs and events, which offer students opportunities for field trip and campus events. These include the history film series, Women’s History Month, the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and the Student Government Association.
“BHC social sciences are the foundation upon which I built my academic and professional careers. This is true of both the coursework and mentorship by the staff. Lessons from both carry over many years later.”
